Wise Market Review: Are They Truly Wise?
Buying a refurbished device that is almost the same in quality as brand new but is much lower in price sounds like a great idea. Doesn't it?
This may sound like a great idea, but not all refurbished smartphone sellers are created equal.
To buy a refurbished device, you must choose a retailer that provides good quality products and has a good track record.
Continuing our review series of refurbished retailers, today we are going to dig deeper into the refurbished seller Wise Market and find out whether they provide up-to-the-mark services.
So, without further ado, let's get started.
Wise Market Australia Does Not Have a Physical Store
If you are a frequent online buyer, you might think not having a physical store is no big deal. Although there's some truth in it, many people find it more convenient to visit the store and buy physically, especially when we talk about refurbished devices.
However, Wise Market does not have such a physical store. They only operate online as of now. Now you might think about the downsides of not having a physical store.
Well, to begin with, having a physical space where people can come and check out products in real time before making their buying decision is a good way to lower the rate of returns.
While online store provides much more flexibility for buyers as they can order products from the comfort of their homes, they can not actually assess the condition of the refurbished device by looking at sample images taken from the internet.
Moreover, confused buyers who find it difficult to identify which product they want can walk into a physical store and have themselves helped by the staff to make an informed and wise buying decision.
After all, you do not want your hard-earned money to go in vain.
But that's not to say that an online store is not important. Both online and physical stores can go hand in hand, providing customers with ease.
So unlike Phonebot, Wise Market does not operate physically.
Only Email, No Live Chat Support
Although a company's products may be of high quality, they will struggle to succeed in the modern marketplace if they do not provide excellent customer service.
When you operate a customer service support service, it's crucial to allow customers to reach out to you easily at any time of the day. It is essential to have a customer support service available 24/7, especially if you are a larger company and operate in an industry with high demand for services like refurbished devices.
However, while you can reach out to Wise Market through email and phone, they do not offer live chat support.
Also, there's not even a chatbot on their website that can answer basic customer questions and recommend a product within a specific budget.
Wise Market's customer support team is only available between 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays.
Undefined Battery Health
Wouldn't it be frustrating if you are enjoying your favorite song or movie on your phone, and it suddenly dies? Well, that is what low battery health does to your smartphone.
If a phone has low battery health, it will not only discharge quickly but also have performance issues. That is why refurbished sellers should define the battery health of their devices upfront.
However, Just like MobileGuru and Loop Mobile, Wise Market also does not define the battery health of their refurbished devices.
They have said on their website that they do not sell refurbished devices with less than 80% battery health. However, if a customer has received a product with lower battery health than 80%, they can claim that device.
No Bundle Deals, No Freebies, No Value Added Products!
Refurbished sellers like Phonebot provide bundle deals, freebies, and value-added products to incentivize customer purchases.
For example, older models like iPhone 6, 7, and 8 come with brand new batteries when purchased from Phonebot.
On the other hand, Wise Market does not offer such free items. Their refurbished devices typically come without any added bonuses.
However, the brand new devices on Wise Market come with a box and all accessories, but those devices are relatively more expensive.
Furthermore, deals or product sales are rarely found on Wise Market, except for events like Christmas.
Choose Your Seller Wisely!
When you plan to buy a refurbished device in Australia, there are so many sellers from which you can choose to buy your device. But a lot of choices might leave you overwhelmed, and you might think about which one to go with.
That's why we created our review series, where we have reviewed a couple of refurbished mobile sellers so that you can make a wise buying decision.
Today, we tried to shed some light on Wise Market. They have a good overall reputation but lack in the areas mentioned above.
So if you are someone who prefers to buy a device physically by visiting the store, Wise Market will not serve your purpose. Or, if you are looking to buy a refurbished device on sale, again, you should skip buying from Wise Market.
