The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 came in 2014. Since then Surface Pro lineup has been released up to 9 generations.
Here's a brief description of what each generation of the Surface Pro has in store for you.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 9 also has a 13" touchscreen and comes with preloaded Windows 11. This time there are two types of processors: 12th Gen Intel Core i5 / i7 processors and Microsoft SQ 3 processors.
The SQ model supports RAM options up to 16GB, storage of up to 512GB, and a battery life of 19 hours.
In comparison, the Intel model provides RAM options of up to 32GB, storage of up to 1TB, and a battery life of 15 hours.
The Surface Pro 8 uses the 11th generation Intel Core i5 / i7 processors and features a 13" large touchscreen. There is up to 1TB removable SSD support and three LPDDR4x RAM options: 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB.
The Pro 8 comes with preloaded Windows 11 Home with built-in Microsoft 365 apps and Xbox app.
The Pro 8 has 2 x USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports. The rear-facing camera is 10MP and supports 1080p and 4K video.
The Surface Pro 7 features 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB LPDDR4x RAM options and 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The Surface Pro 7 is powered by the 11th generation Intel Core i5 / i7 processors.
This time the Surface Pro offers single USB-C and USB-A ports. The battery lasts for 15 hours on typical usage.
The Surface Pro 6 comes with either Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro. The 4GB RAM option is no more there, and you have to choose either 8GB or 16GB. The storage options include four options ranging from 128GB to 1TB.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 comes preloaded with Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home, depending on the processor configuration. The Pro 5 runs on Intel Core 7th generation m3, i5, and i7 processors.
RAM options are 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB. You can choose from four SSD options between 128GB and 1TB. The battery supplies power for 13.5 hours and 12.5 hours on Wi-Fi and 4G, respectively.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 features a 12.4" PixelSense touchscreen display. It packs the 6th Gen Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processors. The device comes with a built-in Windows 10 Pro.
